Inter target Diego Forlan could arrive in Italy at some point on Friday if an agreement can be found with Atletico Madrid.
The Nerazzurri have targeted the Uruguayan international as a replacement for Samuel Eto'o after his sale to Anzhi.
Reports in Italy suggest that a deal is close, but there are still some details that need to be finalised.
Inter and Atletico have agreed a transfer fee of around €5m, while personal details between the Italians and the player are also said to be complete.
The former Manchester United man will sign a two-year contract, with an option for a third season at San Siro.
Forlan is rumoured to have accepted a €3.5m salary that could rise to €4m depending on whether bonus clauses are activated.
However, it is being alleged that Forlan and Atletico are still trying to resolve some economical issues between themselves.
