Gian Piero Gasperini was not shaken by Inter's defeat to Chievo or Julio Cesar's injury and is waiting for Diego Forlan.
The Nerazzurri organised a friendly to make up for the Serie A strike and fell to a surprise 3-2 loss against Chievo Verona.
“We played a good game and the result absolutely does not reflect the truth,” said the Coach. “I am happy. Aside from the defeat, the lads did very well. It was undoubtedly a step forward compared to recent matches.
“We were ready to play in Serie A and proved that tonight. The team is starting to really click.”
Gasperini was asked if the side would do even better once Forlan arrives from Atletico Madrid.
“We'll see, there are still four days left in the transfer window and then some will go on international duty, so we'll all be together ahead of the Palermo game. That is where we will begin from.
“As far as I am concerned, our transfer policy is very clear, but the market is complex and so I don't know what we can actually achieve. If the team can be improved, especially in attack, then we'll be even stronger.”
Yuto Nagatomo made his comeback after dislocating his shoulder last month, but Julio Cesar limped off with a knee problem during the Chievo game.
“It's alright, there is no serious injury,” assured Gasperini.
