Diego Forlan touched down in Milan last night ahead of signing a contract with Internazionale.
The Uruguayan has been netted from Atletico Madrid following the departure of Samuel Eto'o to Anzhi.
"Samuel is a wonderful guy and a superb footballer," the centre-forward told awaiting journalists at Linate airport.
"I'm here to continue winning with Inter. My aim is to play and score as much as possible for my new team."
Forlan's capture is expected to be made official at some point on Tuesday once all the formalities have been completed.
"I'd like to thank President Massimo Moratti and Inter for this great opportunity," he continued. "I'm very happy to play for a fantastic team like this.
"I'm happy to be here and this is a great opportunity for my career."
