Genoa “turned down a €10m offer from Inter for Rodrigo Palacio, so this rules out Alberto Gilardino.”
The club had been willing to release Palacio, but only if they found a suitable replacement, namely the Viola and Italy hitman.
“Palacio will stay at Genoa because of President Enrico Preziosi, who turned down a €10m offer from Inter,” revealed director of sport Stefano Capozucca on TMW.
“As he remains with us, this rules out the arrival of Gilardino to Genoa. As for Maxi Lopez, we never even negotiated for him.”
Genoa did sign Andrea Caracciolo from Brescia this afternoon, while Inter opted for Lazio's Mauro Zarate instead.
