Atalanta technical director Pierpaolo Marino believes the 2012 Scudetto will remain in the city of Milan.
"The title race is between two clubs," said the official. "It will be Milan or Inter, even if I do hope that Juventus or Napoli will get involved.
"If I had to place a bet then it would be on the Milanese teams," he added in an interview with Itasportpress.
Reigning champions Milan will begin the campaign as favourites, but the former Napoli director general rates Inter.
"I don't know if Inter are weaker following the sale of Samuel Eto'o to Anzhi," he continued.
"With Diego Forlan, Giampaolo Pazzini and a Diego Milito who could return to his levels of two seasons ago, Inter have what is needed to take on Milan."
