Lazio boss Edy Reja has conceded that he would have preferred to start the season with a home game against Chievo. "But we can cause Milan problems."
The capital club were set to face Chievo in Week 1 until strike action saw the opening round of games postponed. They now face champions Milan at San Siro on Friday.
"Milan will be favoured and I would have liked to start at the Olimpico against Chievo," the tactician noted on Thursday.
"However, this game can provide us with some answers. It's an important test that will help us understand what we can achieve this season.
"Milan have incredible potential, but we have the quality to do well."
Reja is sometimes considered as a cautious Coach, but he's suggested that his team will play to win at the Meazza.
"We have some excellent attacking options available to us which can cause Milan some difficulties.
"Our approach to the game will be different from last season. We're more attacking," he continued.
"[Summer signings] Miroslav Klose and Djibril Cisse are class players and we have a quality squad. If we're focused then we can cause Milan some problems."
Reja was also inevitably asked about Mauro Zarate, the Lazio fan favourite who was loaned to Inter on transfer deadline day.
"It's a closed chapter," the former Napoli man added. "I just hope that Mauro does his best for Inter. He has a great opportunity and I hope he can show off his qualities."
