Sinisa Mihajlovic is very confident Fiorentina can “target European qualification with a squad full of first team players.”
The Viola have failed to reach continental competition for the past two years and began to lose the faith of their fans.
“Our objective is Europe. I have to thank the club for giving me a competitive squad,” said the Coach ahead of the game with Bologna.
“I have great confidence, as I can see the lads are fired up and I too am brimming with enthusiasm.
“This season I have a squad full of first team players and it won't be easy for me to pick a starting XI every time.”
Stevan Jovetic is back after missing all of last season with a devastating knee injury, while Riccardo Montolivo and Alberto Gilardino had contract disputes this summer.
“I still have a few doubts,” continued Mihajlovic. “Montolivo is available and Gilardino looks very sharp, so we're really betting on him. Jovetic is hungry to get going, but he needs to relax and not push himself too hard.”
Bologna are very familiar to the Serb tactician, as he was in charge of the side in 2008-09.
“I will always be grateful to Bologna, as they gave me my first real management job. They have a strong side with people like Marco Di Vaio, Panagiotis Kone and Alessandro Diamanti.
“I want to see a Fiorentina team that never gives in. We can win or lose, but the attitude must always be that of someone giving 100 per cent.”
