Alexis Sanchez is out of Barcelona's Champions League clash with Milan and could be sidelined for up to two months.
The Chilean was a €37m summer signing from Udinese and had a very bright start to his Nou Camp career.
However, the 22-year-old was stretchered off during Saturday's 2-2 draw with Real Sociedad.
Sanchez has now been diagnosed with a torn muscle in the back of his right leg, so he is expected to be out of action for six to eight weeks, confirmed the official Barça website.
It's a heavy blow for the Blaugrana, who threw away a 2-0 lead in San Sebastian and will face Milan on Tuesday evening in the Champions League.
Pep Guardiola ran few risks, as he initially rested Leo Messi, David Villa, Andres Iniesta, Carles Puyol, Javier Mascherano and Eric Abidal for their Liga match.
