Gigi Buffon has revealed that he thanked Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani for allowing Andrea Pirlo to join Juventus.
The midfielder left the Rossoneri in favour of a switch to Juve after his San Siro contract came to an end.
The Bianconeri are already benefiting from his arrival after he set up two goals in the club's 4-1 win over Parma on Sunday.
"When Pirlo told me that he was coming to Juventus the first thing that I told him was 'thank goodness'," stated the goalkeeper.
"Getting a player of his level and worth was the deal of the century especially as he was also available on a free transfer.
"When I saw him play, I thought 'there is a God' because his footballing skill is really embarrassing," added Buffon.
"I saw Galliani in the summer and I thanked him for making the championship a much more balanced affair."
Pirlo, an international colleague of the custodian, spent a decade with the Rossoneri before opting for the Turin challenge.
