Paris Saint-Germain don't want to wait until the end of the season to sign Federico Balzaretti they would prefer to net the Palermo man in January instead.
The Italian club have admitted that they are likely to sell the full-back to PSG, but only once the 2011-12 season is over.
"Federico has asked me to sell him to Paris SG," Rosanero President Maurizio Zamparini told RMC on Tuesday. "I intend to meet his request.
"PSG director Leonardo has asked for him, but I told him that the player will remain with us until the end of the season.
"In the meantime, we are looking for his replacement."
However, reports in France are suggesting that Leonardo is already working on an offer to bring the Italian international in during the winter window.
The Sicilian club have done some transfer business with PSG in recent months after allowing Salvatore Sirigu and Javier Pastore to join the French outfit.
Balzaretti, who will be 30 in December, joined Palermo in 2008 after a season with Fiorentina.
