X-rays have ruled out ankle fractures, but Ezequiel Lavezzi is still a major doubt for Napoli's clash with Milan.
The striker limped off during last night's 1-1 Champions League draw at Manchester City and there were fears of a long-term setback.
Today the tests showed heavy bruising to the right ankle, but no fractures, so it is a race against time to see if the swelling goes down before Sunday's match.
“It's all fine, I have a bruise, but it's nothing serious,” wrote Lavezzi on Twitter.
“I hope to be alright for Sunday's game. I want to play!”
