Delio Rossi insists he knows nothing about the rumours suggesting that he could replace Gian Piero Gasperini at Inter.
The latter is under intense pressure after the Nerazzurri have lost all three of their competitive games in 2011-12 so far.
And following losses to Palermo and Trabzonspor in the last week, new boss Gasperini is playing for his future against Roma this weekend.
"It's pleasing to be linked with such an important club, the world champions," Rossi told Sky Sport Italia.
"It's nice because it means that I have done well. However, there is a difference between being linked and being contacted."
Rossi, who left Palermo in the summer, was associated with the post in the summer before Massimo Moratti opted to go for Gasperini instead.
"I don't know Moratti, so I can't make judgements about him," Rossi added. "A person must be seen up close.
"In any case, he seems to be a gentleman, a very calm man, a kind of father figure. But they are just my sensations off the cuff."
