Marco Giampaolo faces Catania and the Cesena Coach gets something off his chest. “I was unfairly sacked” by the Sicilians.
The tactician was shown the door in January just six months after taking charge of the side and was replaced by Diego Simeone.
“I did my work at Catania professionally and independently. I think I was unfairly sacked, but I am sure that I did my best,” said Giampaolo.
“Catania are a side I know well, as they are very instinctive and emotional. There is a lot of character that may come from so many Argentines in the squad. They have quality, balance and physical strength.”
Cesena opened their campaign with a 3-1 home defeat to Napoli, though this is more of a relegation tussle.
“Napoli is in the past and we cannot be focused on what is behind us.”
