Mauro Zarate praised Coach Gian Piero Gasperini and the fans, but “we have to do better because we are Inter.”
The striker came off the bench and created several scoring opportunities in the 0-0 draw with Roma.
“It was tough because Roma played with a high line, played their style and we tried to go on the counter-attack,” Zarate told Sky Sport Italia.
“We have not been lucky in the last few games, including tonight and the Champions League loss to Trabzonspor.
“I did not expect to receive such affection from the San Siro crowd, especially as I'm not doing that well and neither is the team. We have to do better because we are Inter.”
The result has only taken a small amount of pressure of Gasperini, who was jeered by fans for his substitutions.
“We have a perfect rapport with the Coach. We just need to improve all together in order to win,” concluded the Argentine.
