Eusebio Di Francesco has praised his players' attitude after Lecce collected their first points of the season with a win at Bologna.
The Coach was speaking after goals from Guillermo Giacomazzi and Carlos Grossmuller either side of half-time gave the Giallorossi a 2-0 win over relegation rivals Bologna. It was also Di Francesco's first win as a Coach in Serie A.
"Today [Sunday] our attitude was good. We waited for Bologna, and were looking to reply with counter-attacks, and in the end, the result has proven us right.
"At the same time, we were also aggressive, especially on their players with the ball. I adopted a 4-3-1-2 as a little change when substituting David Di Michele.
"During training we worked especially on ball possession and we managed to play [against Bologna] by keeping the ball on the ground.
"Initially we suffered a little to Bologna, perhaps with the team still in shock from Udinese. Later, however, the team had responded with a really positive performance."
The Coach reserved praise for Uruguayan midfielder Grossmuller, before immediately switching focus to Wednesday's Week 4 match against Atalanta.
"Grossmuller deserves a special mention. He was a player on the verge of leaving Lecce at one point, but has continued to work with great professionalism and commitment.
"These were valuable characteristics seen in both phases of possession.
"Now though, we have to focus in view of the battle we face on Wednesday night against Atalanta, a team hungry for points, and with a great physicality.
"I told my boys that there are always surprises waiting around the corner, and we must maintain the highest level of care so as not to undermine the good things we achieved this weekend."
