Delio Rossi has been linked with Gian Piero Gasperini's job, but assures he was “never contacted by Inter.”
The former Palermo boss is currently out of work, as he has not found a project that intrigues him yet.
This means he has been touted as a potential replacement for Coaches under pressure, such as Gasperini at Inter and Roma's Luis Enrique.
“I was never contacted by Inter,” Rossi told RMC. “I am not working out of choice, as the right proposal has not arrived to entice me.
“Roma have just started their new project and need a little time to develop.”
Rossi was impressed by Napoli, who are top of the table after thrashing Milan 3-1.
“They already had a great run last season and kept their Coach, so the machinery is well-oiled.
“Adding Gokhan Inler and Blerim Dzemaili in midfield, with Goran Pandev in attack, means this is a side in great shape that has been strengthened over the summer.”
