Cagliari travel to Palermo as Serie A leaders for the first time in 41 years and Massimo Ficcadenti has no intention of ending the dream now.
“I see no reason to rotate the squad or rest important players at this stage,” said the Coach.
“We're at the start of the season, they are fresh, motivated and confident. If we were already tired at this point, then we'd have to go on vacation again. That is not the case with us.
“Besides, I think players always prefer to be on the field rather than training, so there's no need to make too many changes to avoid supposed fatigue.”
Cagliari have won both their games against Roma and Novara, but visit a Palermo side that has been capable of beating Inter then losing to Atalanta.
“I keep thinking back to the game they played against Inter. It was strange and I don't think it can be repeated,” said Ficcadenti.
“Palermo were fired up by the change of management, while Inter played a very unfocused defensive line.
“The Sicilians certainly have good individual talents and great potential in attack, so we must be wary of taking care of every detail.”
