Javier Zanetti concedes “nothing is working” at Inter right now, but “these situations can happen and we need the fans at this time.”
The Nerazzurri crashed to a shock 3-1 defeat at Novara on Tuesday night, meaning they have amassed one point in four official games this season.
Coach Gian Piero Gasperini is hanging by a thread, as President Massimo Moratti hinted he'd take the night to make a decision.
“It is a difficult moment, because we have good intentions, but can't seem to put them into practice,” the captain told Inter Channel.
“I see so much effort in training, but at the moment nothing is working for what the team can and indeed must do.
“Now we have to work, stay united and talk among us to change this negative trend. There are still so many games to go and what counts now is focusing on the next test with Bologna on Saturday to shake up the table.”
Zanetti marked his record 757th appearance in an Inter jersey and made an appeal to the ultras.
“Each and every fan must understand these situations can happen. There are good moments and less good ones, but we need the fans in all of them.”
