FIFA have released their latest World Rankings, and Italy have moved back up a position to sixth in the world.
The four-time World Cup winners swap positions with Brazil, returning the Azzurri to their June 2011 ranking, and their joint-highest during Cesare Prandelli's tenure as Coach.
Italy recorded successive 1-0 wins in the month of September against Faroe Islands and Slovenia to secure automatic qualification for summer 2012's European Championships that will be held in Poland and Ukraine.
That qualification campaign has seen Prandelli break a record for the most number of points collected from the opening matches, whilst his team have not conceded a goal in a competitive match in over a year.
