Mazzone: 'Ranieri right man, right time'

Claudio Ranieri's appointment as Inter Coach has received the endorsement of the much-travelled Carlo Mazzone.

The former Roma, Napoli and Brescia boss gave his opinion on the Nerazzurri's decision to sack Gian Piero Gasperini and replace him with Ranieri.

A fellow Rome native, Mazzone explained to Tutto Mercato Web of the reason why he believes Ranieri will succeed where Gasperini failed.

"Claudio is the right man at the right time. I'm sorry for Gasperini, but football is like this.

"Ranieri is ready, he is the ideal person. He knows our League, has experience and charisma.

"Gasperini? Between the two, there is a big difference in terms of experience. I always say that one important thing is a Coach's experience. It is an asset not a defect.

"Ranieri is better than Gasperini with regards this, because he has coached teams and this gives important knowledge of football of any kind.

"Unfortunately, the beginning for Inter has been dramatic."
