Moratti opted for Ranieri's experience

Massimo Moratti has explained that Claudio Ranieri was the best option available to the team because of the experience he offers.

Speaking as Ranieri prepares to take his first training session as Inter Coach this afternoon, President Moratti gave his blessing, and expressed the reason why he went for the former Roma Coach.

"He is undoubtedly the best choice we could find. He has the common sense needed to revitalise the team.

"I'm sorry for how it has worked out for Gasperini, it was unfortunate, although he certainly understood the situation.

"I am satisfied with the choice of Ranieri - at this moment we need experience.

"Should the performance improve? I do not care, all that counts is to win on Saturday [against Bologna]."
