Luca Antonini made his comeback in Milan's “important” win over Viktoria and reveals “the referee apologised to me.”
The full-back had a great scoring opportunity in the first half cut short by an incorrect offside call.
“At the end of the first half the referee apologised to me for that offside decision. It was impossible, as I was coming from behind the line,” Antonini told Sky Sport Italia after the 2-0 victory.
“It was important to get the three points today, we managed it and kept a clean sheet. We could've sealed it before the break with all the chances we created, but did well to continue pushing in the second half.
“To begin with we suffered under Viktoria's counter-attacks, as we wanted to open them up straight away and became unbalanced.”
Zlatan Ibrahimovic also returned from injury and inspired Milan by converting a penalty and setting up Antonio Cassano's goal.
“Ibra is decisive for us and tonight you saw that, as every ball thrown in there is his. He gives us great confidence and then did very well combining with Cassano.”
Antonini went off in the final minutes after suffering from cramp.
