Giampaolo Pazzini could make a remarkable recovery from a sprained ankle to start Inter-Napoli on Saturday night.
The striker was thought to be ruled out of the big Serie A meeting when he picked up the injury on the synthetic turf in Moscow.
However, reports emerging from the Appiano Gentile training ground suggest Pazzini's right ankle is no longer sore or swollen.
This means he could make a lightning recovery to start on Saturday evening at San Siro, although it remains to be seen if Coach Claudio Ranieri will risk him.
Diego Forlan is certain to start, as he missed out on the 3-2 win over CSKA Moscow because he is ineligible for the Champions League until January.
Wesley Sneijder and Dejan Stankovic are also hoping to recover in time for that game.
