Malesani calls on Genoa fans

Alberto Malesani urged the Genoa fans to make themselves heard during the Parma game. “Their enthusiasm fires us up.”

The Grifone had a strong start to the season and were joint leaders last week until their 2-1 defeat to Chievo.

“I feel less warmth around us after that game, because over the past week we have been criticised a great deal,” said the Coach.

“Unfortunately, that can make the reception in the stadium somewhat tepid. I want to see huge enthusiasm around us, as that fires us up. I want to see an atmosphere like the one when we beat Catania 3-0.

“We are like actors, as we want our marvellous public around us at all times, but critical reviews do not help.

“I remind everyone that we are still at the start of our journey and need to notch up points, even when not necessarily playing well.”
