Italy U-21s 'ready' for Turkey

Ciro Ferrara insists his Italian Under-21 side know what they have to do against Turkey on Tuesday.

Turkey have taken control of Group 7 with a 100 per cent record, but Ferrara's boys have won both of their European Championship qualifiers to date.

"We've prepared well for the game," the former Juventus Coach noted on Monday. "We are ready both physically and mentally.

"We're playing against a team who have won all four of their qualification games in the group so far, but we are ready and we can count on the support of the fans in Rieti.

"We'll certainly try to win tomorrow because this game is more important to us than it is for them at this moment in time."

Italy go into the encounter after Thursday's heroics in Liechtenstein where, despite being reduced to 10 men, they collected a 7-2 win.

The Republic or Ireland and Hungary also make up Group 7.
