Guidolin wants 'starved' Udinese

Francesco Guidolin insists Udinese are anything but sated at being top of the table. “Atalanta are starved and we must match their intensity.”

The Friulani are joint Serie A leaders with Juventus going into the Sunday afternoon encounter in Bergamo.

“It's always a mystery coming back from international duty, because so many of our players have been travelling the world over the last few days. Fatigue and injury are just around the corner,” warned the Coach.

“At this moment we are not thinking of Atletico Madrid and the Europa League, as all our thoughts are focused on Atalanta.”

Were it not for the six-point penalty over a betting scandal, the Orobici would be just one point behind Udinese right now.

“Tomorrow we are facing a side starved of success and we must match them on every level of intensity. The start from -6 has proved to be a great motivating force, so we cannot help but praise the work done by Stefano Colantuono.

“This season is full of hidden dangers for every team, regardless of their ambitions,” continued Guidolin.

“I am convinced we must always behave the same way, with focus, humility and fighting to the death for every point. My job is to instil this mentality into the players.”

Andrea Coda and Manuel Pasqual are still sidelined, but Antonio Floro Flores could be fit to start after a long lay-off.
