Malesani: 'Genoa must spit blood'

Alberto Malesani wants Genoa to “spit blood” to get their result against Lecce after two consecutive defeats.

The Grifone do not travel well, having lost at Chievo and Parma, but return to Marassi this afternoon.

“Lecce must get the message right from the start that we've changed. We must play with fire in our bellies!” declared the Coach.

“Not only in this game, but in every match, we've got to spit blood to get the victory.

“What we lacked against Parma was that determination and grit. It's easy to become a team, but it takes time to become winners.

“I am thinking of introducing Valter Birsa, as he hasn't played much so far and deserves an opportunity. He's a serious professional with pace and technique.”

Genoa squad: Antonelli, Birsa, Bovo, Caracciolo, Constant, Frey, Dainelli, Granqvist, Jankovic, Jorquera, Kaladze, Kucka, Lupatelli, Merkel, Mesto, Moretti, Palacio, Pratto, Ribas, Rossi, Seymour, Veloso
