Davide Astori has described the moment he fractured his leg playing for Cagliari and has refused to criticise Ezequiel Lavezzi for his role in the incident.
The tall centre-back has been ruled out for at least three months with the injury which was sustained in a clash with Napoli attacker Lavezzi during Sunday's 0-0 between Cagliari and the Partenopei.
"I felt a stabbing pain at the time of the accident, but frankly I thought of a severe bruise and not a fracture.
"Even once back in the dressing room I did not realise the severity of the damage."
The former Milan man has refused to blame Lavezzi for the injury, absolving him of any blame.
"I'm pretty quiet and take it with the right philosophy. This type of problem is part of the career of a footballer."
