Luis Enrique: Roma not yet great...

Roma boss Luis Enrique has admitted that his side can't yet be considered as realistic title contenders.

The Giallorossi have recovered from a problematic start to the campaign by joining Napoli and Milan on 11 points in the table – just four shy of leaders Udinese.

But while Napoli and Milan are seen as possible champions, the Spaniard isn't getting carried away with his team's efforts.

"Roma, as it stands, can't win the title," he said ahead of Wednesday's meeting with Genoa.

"We're in a phase of construction and as a result we are not a strong side. However, I don't know what will happen in three or four months.

"Saying that, I do believe that we are growing at a fast rate."

Roma have won three of their last four Serie A games, with teenager Erik Lamela sealing a 1-0 win over Palermo with a debut goal at the weekend.

"Lamela just has to remain calm," added the former Barcelona B boss. "He has to continue working with consistency because he is still very young.

"He played well against Palermo, but he still has a lot of work to do."

Hosts Genoa will go into the Marassi encounter having collected just two points from the last 12 on offer, but they impressed during their 2-2 draw at Juventus on Saturday.

"I've seen Genoa play and they are a good team, like many others in Italy," Enrique continued. "They are a very dangerous side.

"They have players who can find the net with ease, but we'll look to just play our own brand of football. The most important thing, though, will be the result."

The tactician was then asked about Daniele De Rossi, a player who has yet to sign an extension to his contract which expires in June 2012.

"When you talk about Daniele you talk about Roma," he noted. "He has the mentality of an important player, a champion.

"It's very easy to have a good relationship with him. He wants to win and he knows what it means to be a Roma player.

"In my opinion, he's a top level player, one of great personality."
