Xavi is reportedly second in the Ballon d'Or vote, but admits “Wesley Sneijder should be in the top three.”
Rumours suggest it is an all-Barcelona podium for the Golden Ball trophy with Andres Iniesta, Xavi and Leo Messi.
“I know that in Italy they are angry because Sneijder is not among the finalists and I can agree with them,” confessed Xavi on Sport.es.
“The Dutch midfielder had a fantastic year.”
Sneijder won the Treble with Inter – Scudetto, Champions League and Coppa Italia – plus took Holland to the World Cup Final.
He was among the hot favourites when the long-list was announced, but has since plummeted down the standings.
