Milan have confirmed Antonio Cassano is in hospital after he was taken ill on the flight back from Rome.
The striker came off the bench for a brief appearance in last night's 3-2 win at the Stadio Olimpico.
“AC Milan announce that Antonio Cassano was taken ill as the plane reached the Malpensa airport from Rome,” read a statement.
“The player is being kept at the Policlinico in Milan for tests.”
It is not clear what happened to Cassano and the news only filtered through from Milan's official statement.
It also remains to be seen whether he'll be cleared fit to play in the Champions League on Tuesday against BATE Borisov.
Clarence Seedorf and Kevin-Prince Boateng are also battling injury and may well not feature.
