Andrea Ranocchia is adamant that Inter still have a chance of competing for the Scudetto this season.
The Nerazzurri are now a massive 11 points behind leaders Juventus after the Old Lady left San Siro on Saturday night with the three points.
"Inter cannot be ruled out of the challenge for the Scudetto at this stage," the Nerazzurri defender told Mediaset.
"There are still a lot of matches to be played and a lot of points still to be won, but we have to sort out this situation as quickly as we can.
"Unfortunately we're going through a period when everything's going wrong," he continued. "But that's football…
"However, I'm convinced that if we keep on working as we are now to improve our performance, we'll come through this difficult time soon."
Inter are amazingly just a point above the drop zone and the defeat to their old rivals was their fifth in nine League games this term.
"During half-time I went down to the dressing rooms to be with my teammates," the Italian added when asked about the Juve reverse.
"None of us could believe we were 2-1 down, because we had created a lot of chances and kept control of the match…"
Ranocchia missed Saturday's tie with injury having only just returned to training following a muscle strain picked up in the Champions League.
