Manuel Pasqual's agent is confident that his client will sign a new contract with Serie A side Fiorentina.
The left-back is only tied to the Viola until June 2012 and discussions regarding a renewal have yet to reach a conclusion.
There were reports in Tuscany this morning suggesting that talks had stalled over the player's salary demands, but Gastone Rizzato is remaining positive.
"There are no problems with regard to his renewal," the representative told TMW on Wednesday afternoon.
"These stories are just fantasy. There is a deal in place with the club and we are just waiting for Fiorentina to give us a definite answer.
"We are in no rush and we'll resume talks this week."
It's understood that the player is hoping to sign a new deal until 2014, but the club are trying to get him to accept a cut in wages.
Pasqual, 29, has played in all nine of the Viola's Serie A games so far this term.
