Pato will face Fiorentina

Brazilian ace Alexandre Pato says he'll be fit and ready for Milan's game at Fiorentina in Week 12.

The striker has been sidelined with a muscle injury since September 21, but he maintains he'll be back after the international break.

"Six weeks have gone by, but I'm now ready," he stated. "I'm good and I'll return once the break is over.

"The only reason why I can't play against Catania is because I haven't trained with the rest of the squad."

Pato has a history of injury problems, but he maintains he's doing all that he can to avoid further fitness issues.

"I have to work on my thigh muscles with gym work and by working on sand," he added. "I don't know if I'll suffer more problems, but I'm doing all that is possible to play games.

"Is the San Siro turf to blame? No, that's not it. Also because the pitch is actually better this season than it was in the last campaign."

Pato was also inevitably asked about Antonio Cassano, the Italian international who underwent heart surgery this morning.

"He's smiling, laughing and walking," Pato noted. "He's calm and he'll be back stronger than ever.

"We did speak for a while, but I didn't understand that much. He was speaking in Bari dialect…"
