Uruguay name squad for Italy test

Uruguay have named their squad for the friendly against Italy, including Edinson Cavani, but Abel Hernandez misses out.

The Copa America winners take on the Azzurri on November 15 at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.

Before then, they play a 2014 World Cup qualifier against Chile in Montevideo.

Coach Oscar Washington Tabarez has called several names familiar to Serie A, such as Napoli striker Cavani, Alvaro Gonzalez of Lazio and Bologna’s Diego Perez and Gaston Ramirez.

However, Palermo forward Hernandez is out after pulling up with a thigh strain during Saturday’s 3-1 win over Bologna.

Also absent due to injury is Porto’s Jorge Fucile.

Goalkeepers: Fernando Muslera (Galatasaray), Martin Silva (Olimpia), Juan Castillo (Colo Colo);

Defenders: Diego Lugano (Paris Saint-Germain), Diego Godín (Atlético Madrid), Sebastian Coates (Liverpool), Andres Scotti (Colo Colo), Martin Caceres (Sevilla), Mauricio Victorino (Cruzeiro);

Midfielders: Alvaro Pereira (Porto), Cristian Rodriguez (Porto), Egidio Arevalo Rios (Tijuana), Sebastian Eguren (Sporting Gijón), Diego Perez (Bologna), Gaston Ramirez (Bologna),  Alvaro Gonzalez (Lazio), Nicolas Lodeiro (Ajax);

Forwards: Edinson Cavani (Napoli), Luis Suarez (Liverpool), Sebastian Abreu (Botafogo), Sebastian Fernandez (Malaga).
