Catania ace Maxi Lopez has opened the door for a possible January move to reigning Italian champions Milan.
The Argentine has been paired with a switch to San Siro as a possible short-term replacement for Antonio Cassano.
The latter is expected to be sidelined for around six months after undergoing minor heart surgery on Friday.
“Milan are the greatest club in the world,” said the former Barcelona man to the Corriere dello Sport. “Who wouldn’t want to join them?
“I’m ready to take the big step up in level. It would be an honour for me, but the two clubs would need to talk about it.”
Lopez, born in 1984, joined Catania in January 2010.
He’s scored two goals in seven Serie A appearances so far this season.
