Uruguayan international Diego Forlan is attempting to be fit and available for Inter’s game at Siena on November 27.
The summer signing from Atletico Madrid is recovering from a thigh muscle strain which he picked up on international duty last month.
The striker is expected to resume full training with his teammates on Monday, but it is understood that he won’t be risked in the Cagliari tie once Serie A resumes on November 19.
Forlan, 32, has scored one goal in five Serie A games so far this term for the struggling Nerazzurri.
Meanwhile, Philippe Coutinho and Andrea Poli are back on the road to full fitness. The midfield duo are expected to make an appearance in Friday’s friendly game against Chiasso.
