Lazio signed “one of the best 10 strikers in circulation” when they netted Miroslav Klose, says Oliver Bierhoff.
The German has made a massive impact since joining the capital club on a Bosman from Bayern Munich in the summer.
Klose has been one of the main reasons behind his outfit’s fantastic start to the season as his six goals in 10 games have helped them to the top of the standings.
“I’m not surprised by what he has achieved,” the former Udinese and Milan striker told the Corriere dello Sport.
“I have never doubted his ability or his experience. He’s one of the 10 best strikers in circulation right now.”
Some were perplexed by the Italian side’s decision to sign a 33-year-old who had scored just four League goals for Bayern over the previous two seasons.
“He’s had some good times and bad during his career,” Bierhoff, who won 70 caps for Germany, continued.
“However, he has a calmness inside which has always allowed him to demonstrate his value. He has never put a foot wrong for Germany at a European Championship or a World Cup.”
