Bologna tactician Stefano Pioli has revealed that he will consider adapting his tactics to field two No 10s.
New boss Pioli has used Gaston Ramirez centrally behind two strikers recently, but he says that he may opt to test out a system with two attacking midfielders behind one central striker.
“I’ve come here and found some attacking players with certain characteristics,” the man who recently replaced Pierpaolo Bisoli told Sky Sport Italia.
“Ramirez has been doing some excellent things as a trequartista over the past few weeks.
“However, I will look into the possibility of playing with Ramirez and Alessandro Diamanti in support of a centre-forward.
“Diamanti could give us a lot.”
Diamanti, formerly of West Ham and Livorno, moved to the Stadio Dall’Ara in the summer after a season with relegated Brescia.
He’s struggled with injury so far this term.
