Fiorentina have to field their third-choice goalkeeper against Udinese this afternoon, as Artur Boruc sprained his knee.
The club released a statement on its official website just minutes before kick-off at 17.00 UK time in the Stadio Friuli.
“Boruc sprained his knee during yesterday's training session with collateral ligament strain, but tests ruled out significant lesions.”
With Sebastien Frey already out for five months after knee ligament surgery, the Viola must rely on their third-choice goalkeeper.
Vlada Avramov takes over between the posts for the crunch match with Udinese.
“The knee is always delicate and we don't want to risk losing him for one or two months,” explained assistant manager Dario Marcolin.
