Vincenzo Montella denies Catania can relax after a run of tough encounters. “The fixtures that really count are against the likes of Chievo.”
The Sicilians managed to pick up an impressive eight points from their five games against Inter, Fiorentina, Lazio, Napoli and Milan.
“It was fun getting results against important clubs, but the fixtures that really count for us are against the likes of Chievo. We cannot drop points in these head-to-head relegation clashes,” warned the Coach.
“Chievo are an excellent side with players like Sergio Pellissier and Davide Moscardelli who can hurt you at any moment.
“We recovered a few injured figures during the break for international duty, but they are still not match fit. The lads are working hard and Nicola Legrottaglie sets a good example, as he is always ready to sacrifice himself for the team.”
Maxi Lopez is likely to again sit on the bench ahead of his January move to Milan.
“I don’t ‘rest’ Maxi, as he is one of our players and if we need him, then he will play. We’ll see what happens in January,” concluded Montella.
