Miralem Pjanic has revealed Roma’s objective for this season. “We want to qualify for the Champions League.”
The Giallorossi are currently fifth in the table, five points behind Juventus and Lazio, four shy of Milan and Udinese.
The capital outfit did go through a rough spell when losing three out of four games, but they’ve responded with two successive wins.
The last of those came on Sunday when Pjanic, a summer signing from Lyon, grabbed his first goal for the club in a 2-1 triumph versus Lecce.
“Our minimum target is to finish in third in order to take part in next season’s Champions League,” he told the Gazzetta dello Sport.
“And I hope to contribute to that objective by scoring as many goals as possible for the side during this term.”
Pjanic, an attacking midfielder, is still just 21-years-old and is a full Bosnian international.
“It has been a difficult week for me after my country was knocked out of Euro 2012, but I’m looking to the future now,” he added.
