Inter can now concentrate on their Serie A recovery after qualifying for the last 16 of the Champions League, says Dejan Stankovic.
The Nerazzurri made sure of top spot in Europe last night with a 1-1 draw against Trabzonspor in Turkey.
It’s a point which will now allow them to forget about the European Cup until 2012, thus shifting their focus to their domestic issues.
“It was a tense game tonight, tough and against a difficult and motivated side,” Stankovic told Inter Channel.
“We were well set out on the pitch and we were unlucky on a couple of occasions then lucky when they hit the post.
“Now we can focus on the League. We have to roll up our sleeves and make up positions in the table to get Inter back up near the top where we deserve to be – always.”
The San Siro giants have had a torrid start to the Serie A campaign and they currently find themselves in 16th place.
However, despite already being 11 points behind leaders Juventus and Lazio, boss Claudio Ranieri last week insisted they still believe in the Scudetto.
