Minute's silence for Messina

There will be a minute’s silence before every Serie A and B game for those who died in the Sicilian floods.

Last night torrential rain prompted floods and a landslide through Saponara, in the province of Messina.

A 10-year-old boy, plus father and son aged 50 and 25 were confirmed dead when houses collapsed, while two more people are still missing.

The weather conditions also derailed a train in Calabria, but there were no casualties.

It comes just weeks after floods killed six in Genoa and the wider Liguria area.

The FIGC has announced there will be a minute’s silence before every game in Serie A, B, Lega Pro and the Dilettanti amateur League this weekend.
