The pressure is on Alberto Malesani to deliver, as there are reports Genoa will look to Gigi De Canio in case of defeat today.
Malesani’s position was already wavering earlier this season and he is back on the chopping block after the midweek Coppa Italia tie.
His men scraped a 3-2 win in extra time over Serie B strugglers Bari at Marassi.
It is widely reported that if Genoa fail to get a good result against bottom of the table Cesena this afternoon, then Malesani could be axed.
The rumour mill has De Canio as the prime candidate to take over, as he was already in the running for the job this summer.
