Dominant Milan surprise Abate

Ignazio Abate was left impressed by how well his Milan side did in last night’s drubbing of Chievo Verona.

The Rossoneri breezed to a 4-0 victory just days after their 3-2 home defeat to Barcelona in the Champions League.

“We used up a lot of energy, especially mentally, in the game against Barcelona,” Abate told Milan Channel.

“That is why the match against Chievo was never going to be easy for us,” continued the new Italian international.

“However, the victory last night was really important for us as it meant that we could stay on the tail of Juventus.”

Juve, 1-0 winners at Lazio on Saturday, are one point clear of Milan and Udinese. However, they could extend their lead when they face Napoli at the Stadio San Paolo on Tuesday.
