Milan superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic insists he doesn’t need a Golden Ball to prove how good a player he is.
The 2011 Ballon d’Or award is expected to go to Barcelona’s Lionel Messi, a former teammate of the centre-forward at the Nou Camp.
However, the ex-Ajax, Juventus and Inter striker has told Telefoot that he doesn’t have any doubts over his own ability.
“Messi is a really strong player and I hope he continues to be one,” the Rossoneri ace is quoted as saying.
“He’s still very young, but he’s won almost everything that there is to win in this game,” he continued.
“In my head, though, I am the strongest of them all.
“I certainly don’t need a Golden Ball to demonstrate that I am No 1.”
The three nominees for this year’s FIFA Golden Ball are set to be revealed later on Monday.
