Tevez great for Milan, says Baggio

Italian legend Roberto Baggio has applauded Milan’s proposed swoop for Manchester City forward Carlos Tevez.

The Italian club have agreed terms with the player, but are still negotiating with City over a January move.

Tevez is being targeted as a replacement for Antonio Cassano – following his heart surgery – and Baggio is rather impressed with the possible transfer.

“I got to know about him and appreciate his skills while he was still playing for Boca Juniors,” Baggio, who played for Milan between 1995 and 1997, told Sky Sport Italia.

“He would be a great signing for Milan,” Baggio added. “He is a player who creates goals and also scores a lot himself.”

Tevez, 27, started his career at Boca and was a member of their first team squad for three years before his 2006 move to Corinthians.

The Argentine joined West Ham in 2006, then Manchester United a year later. In 2009, he signed for rivals City.
