Wesley Sneijder has not been included in the Inter squad for Saturday’s Serie A game against Fiorentina.
The Dutchman was hoping to return to action after resuming training following a recent injury problem.
Boss Claudio Ranieri, however, has opted against selecting him in his 20-man squad for the Viola clash for fitness reasons.
There are some notable returns to the party though after Douglas Maicon and Lucio were included by the tactician.
Maicon has been recovering well from a thigh muscle strain, while it was originally thought that Lucio wouldn’t be back until the start of 2012.
It remains to be seen whether any of those two Brazilian internationals will start against Delio Rossi’s men though.
Uruguayan international Diego Forlan is still unavailable.
