Lazio are reportedly mulling over a move for Celtic's Greece international striker Georgios Samaras when the transfer window opens again in January.
The Aquile are in the market for a target man capable of sharing the goalscoring burden with Sergio Floccari, Tommaso Rocchi and Mauro Zarate.
The Daily Record understands Samaras is looking for a new challenge after a two-year spell at Parkhead.
His contract is due to expire at the end of the season and there isn't the desire on his part to sign an extension.
Samaras scored 30 goals in his first 79 appearances for Celtic and is being valued at around €2.5m.
Lazio have also been linked with Werder Bremen's Hugo Almeida and Manchester City's Roque Santa Cruz.
